In the Artist’s Words: The idea for this piece was to convey grief through an environment. I love painting ruins and forgotten spaces, so I decided to paint a village that had burnt down a while ago and was slowly being overtaken with vegetation. We decided to take this a little further with the clearing clouds and budding blossoms on the tree, to convey a feeling of hope after the passage of time.

About the Artist: My name is Megan Wyreweden and I’m an Asian-American artist from Seattle. I’m greatly inspired by folklore, ruins, nature, and a very nerdy childhood filled with books. My work can be found at thecreepingmoon.co and I’m on IG and Twitter @ thecreepingmoon
