In the Artist’s Words:

This piece is based on the mountains in the Jordan River Valley near the Dead Sea, as seen from the Palestinian side. As a kid, this was a popular area for field trips and family outings, so despite the dead way the area looks all my memories of coming here are full of life and sound. Though the olive trees in the foreground are not as common in this area of the country, they were also a huge part of my childhood in Palestine (they are like jungle gyms for tiny people!) so I wanted to feature them as well.
